Day 1 – Longreach
Welcome to your Outback Discovery.
Arrive into Longreach and where our fabulous woman on the ground, Vicki, whose warmth and local knowledge will guide you through your Outback discovery.
After settling into your luxury tent at Mitchell Grass Retreat, you’ll be transferred to the Qantas Founders Museum Airport for a glass of bubbles followed by the spectacular Luminescent Longreach Sound and Light Show. Stand surrounded by towering aircraft as the night sky becomes a canvas for a powerful story of aviation breakthroughs, wartime resilience, and Outback innovation.
Return to Mitchell Grass Retreat for a three-course BBQ dinner with delicious wines, served in the Tin Shed, strategically positioned to capture the starry Outback skies. Time after dinner to gather around the firepit, toast marshmallows and connect under a blanket of stars…

Day 2 – Icon of the Skies & STation Stories
Begin the day with a gourmet breakfast basket on your private deck before delving into Australia’s aviation history at the Qantas Founders Museum. On your private one-hour guided Airpark Tour, explore the Douglas DC-3, Catalina Flying Boat, Lockheed Super Constellation, Boeing 707, and Boeing 747 — uncovering why each has earned its place in Australia’s aviation story. Afterwards, stroll at your own pace through the museum’s immersive main exhibition hall and National Heritage Listed Hangar.
Late morning, join Vicki for the 45-minute drive to Darr River Downs Station, established in 1873 and once one of the largest pastoral properties in the region. Our grazier host will share fascinating stories of the property’s history and present-day operations on a personally guided tour. Afterwards, enjoy a long-table lunch hosted by local women from neighboring stations, for candid stories and personal insights into life on the land.
On the journey west into Winton’s Dinosaur Country, Vicki will share tales of the region’s landscapes and cultural heritage. By late afternoon, arrive at Rangelands Outback Camp, perched high on a spectacular mesa (jump-up) with sweeping views. Our group are the only guests in this beautiful luxury camp, where there is time and space to take time just for you.
Your luxury tent features plush interiors, a private ensuite, and uninterrupted vistas across the ancient landscape.
As the sky turns golden, gather on the Sunset Deck for champagne and canapes and a delicious chef-prepared 3 course dinner.

This morning, step into a prehistoric world at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum, home to Australia’s largest collection of dinosaur fossils. On a private tour, visit the fossil preparation laboratory and collection room, uncovering the extraordinary story of these prehistoric giants and the people who preserved them.
Continue to Winton and enjoy lunch at the historic North Gregory Hotel, where ‘Waltzing Matilda’ was first performed in public on 6 April 1895. Return to Rangelands Outback Camp for an afternoon of leisure — relax on your deck, read a book, take a nap, explore the mesa surrounds, or jjust enjoy watch the shifting colours of the Outback.
This evening, enjoy a private dinner with local business women whose personal stories will inspire.

Day 4 – Cultural Immersion, Foraging & Storytelling
Spend the day connecting with a local Aboriginal family at Jibija Ung-gwee Cultural Camp.
Begin with a guided bush walk to learn about native plants, bush tucker, and survival skills passed down for generations. Take part in hands-on cultural activities and storytelling before gathering for a long lunch featuring a bush-inspired tasting plate with native flavours.
Return to Rangelands for a restful afternoon and reflection time. As evening falls, enjoy a stargazing experience under one of the clearest skies on earth.

Day 5 – Winton & Rangeland Rifts
This morning, explore the highlights of quirky Winton, beginning with the Waltzing Matilda Centre, the world’s only museum dedicated to a song.
Continue to the Royal Theatre, one of the world’s few remaining open-air picture theatres, for a behind-the-scenes tour. Meet a local opal miner for an introduction to Boulder Opals and why they are so important still to this area. Then enjoy lunch at Tattersall’s Hotel before returning to Rangelands for a guided walk through the dramatic Rangelands Rifts, where striking geology and panoramic views await.
As twilight settles, conclude your journey with a farewell dinner at Rangelands where you will savour another delicious dinner, followed by storytelling around the campfire with bush poet Greg North.

Day 6 – Farewell
After breakfast, farewell your Rangelands hosts and transfer with Vicki to Longreach Airport for your return flight home — carrying with you new memories, new connections and more.
