Mai Journeys is much, much more than a business for me. I learned from an early stage in my Travel career that when people – especially women – from all over come together, incredibly special bonds are created. Connecting people & places has become my passion, and Mai Journeys has become the home base for my own idea of Pillars of Connection. And come on, everyone loves a good pillar; they have been around for eons after all!

Just think Tribe, Trust, Self, Nature, Curiosity, Art, and Community – pick any of these and we can attribute them to what we are aiming for with Mai Journeys.

Mai Journeys was born to give women an opportunity to travel our amazing world safely, to meet other like-minded female travellers, to be introduced to the people and cultures of other countries, to learn a skill, to learn about themselves.

We are a fabulous community where many friendships and supportive relationships have developed over the years.

This is what happens when you are experiencing completely new environments together!

Our Hosted Journeys are designed to be full of aesthetic beauty, cultural immersion, delicious flavours, and intimate encounters. Our Escapes, Retreats and Workshops are filled with fantastic opportunities to spend time with other curious minds, both on the trip and who we collaborate with along the way.

Travel for me has always been inspirational – it leaves me both calm and vulnerable. It teaches me about myself, it pushes my boundaries, it makes me question my beliefs, it throws up a million and one emotions, it makes me slow down and speed up, it nourishes me, and it makes me breathe deeper than I ever do when I am not travelling. It makes me feel alive.

2020 saw our lives change in a (seeming) flash and we now must learn to cope with new realities and think about the unknowns ahead. Our immediate future possibilities of journeys may look a little different right now, but the essence of what we do will still be there. We will still come together to learn, to discover, to share our vulnerabilities, our scars, our strengths.

The World and Travel still fit; they still connect, they still make sense. We just need to learn to travel a little differently, tread a little softer and discover the magic that is Closer to home until Borders are fully open.

Here at Mai Journeys, we are working hard behind the scenes to continue organizing, developing, and creating incredible adventures further afield of course as we are all yearning for travels through this amazing world again. But for now, we are roaming a little closer to our own backyards.
