Service and Facilities
Service is faultless and there is so much to do here above and below sea level. Activity-wise, they have everything covered – diving, canoeing, catamaran sailing, kite surfing, jet skiing – the list runs deep. There are also excursions that allow you to explore the archipelago, such as dolphin cruises and visits to a nearby “local” island. There are two swimming pools, tennis courts and set ups available for beach volleyball.
Opulent Living
Luxurious accommodation is a fundamental requirement for a rejuvenating getaway. A private space to rest and reconnect with yourself is a powerful healing tool and you’ll feel invigorated and renewed in no time.
Rooms at the resort range from over-water ocean villas to beach villas – spread over the island and split into an array of categories. Some have private pools and beach access. All are luxurious and deeply comfortable with views to the water, private sundecks and excellent facilities such as large bathrooms with deep tubs, rainfall showers, well-stocked mini bars (replenished daily with two bottles of wine), king-size beds, Marshall speakers and flat screen TVs. Like the rest of the island, the décor is simple but striking – timber and thatched roofs and neutral colours.
Exquisite Dining
Guests are spoilt for choice with so many eateries, ranging from casual to fine dining. Designed for the connoisseurs who appreciate the finer things in life, guests will enjoy indulging on the immaculate food prepared.
East meets west at beachside Ranba, which stretch to lunch and dinner with everything you can think of from east to west, from spicy curries to fresh sushi, pastas, pizzas and burgers.
Ralu is inspired by French and Mediterranean brasseries along the Riviera Coast.
For dinner, there’s the relaxed open-air and sand-in-your-toes beach grill Ginifatu where it’s all about fresh seafood and the catch of the day served with a range salads and sides.
While fine-dining restaurant Ambula features an explosion of Sri Lankan spices and Maldivian flavours. It also has a tasting menu paired with wines and local cocktails.
And there is Hathaa, which seats only 10 guests and rotates between Bangkok and Japanese set menus, and has a chef’s table vibe.
Baani, the overwater Middle Eastern restaurant, is available only to Ocean Suite guests, but other guests can book a table for an additional cost.
The resort’s premium beverage list is immense with a Sommelier curated wine list, mixologist-designed cocktails and a wide range of spirits, beers and mocktails available. There are four bars dotted around the island. There’s a Sky Bar with double-height views across the ocean, a poolside bar, and a rum bar. And, like the restaurants, there’s a bar exclusively for Ocean Suite guests – and the same rule applies – other guests can join for an additional cost.
Complimentary Delights
Days can easily be spent lazing poolside or gazing across the cerulean waters, but there are myriad other ways to immerse yourself in this magical destination. A house reef means there’s kaleidoscopic marine life just metres from shore. Even novice divers are enticed by the azure waters and wonder-filled world that lies beneath (and an introductory dive is free) and there’s the comfort that experienced staff are on hand to guide them.
Experience sunrise or sunset cruises, night fishing, snorkeling, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, catamaran sailing and more.
Other facilities that make Heritance Aarah Maldives a home away from home include complimentary Wi-Fi, in-room dining, multilingual staff, a hotel doctor as well as laundry service.
Plus, the complimentary mini-bar is replenished daily. Or, for those staying in the Ocean Suite, it sees a refresh twice a day.
