To join this Enchanting India – Women Only Hosted Tour, is to fully immerse yourself in the chaos and colour that is India. India is larger than life: a population that exceeds a billion, 23 official languages and enough land to merit being the seventh largest country in the world. It is immense! India is a country full of opulent palaces, vivid temples and landscapes that change in the blink of an eye. It literally floods your senses from every direction. It is a country of vivid contrasts and unrivalled culture; one of the world’s oldest civilisations at once both chaotic and calm.
On this amazing journey, you will discover contrasting Old and New Delhi. Old Delhi was built for the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan and was surrounded by more than 8km of ramparts. New Delhi was built by the British to serve as the capital of their empire. You will search for the elusive Bengal tiger in Bandhavgarh National Park. India is a real-life Jungle Book, home to tigers, leopards and elephants, and Bandhavgarh is thought to have the highest density of Bengal tigers in the country. You will behold the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the ultimate symbol of eternal love. It is one of India’s most memorable and emotive sights. You visit Varanasi, India’s spiritual capital. Its’ 84 ghats – stone embankments that step down into the Ganges – are its most iconic sight. Here you can stand beside the Ganges and listen to the rhythmic drumming of priests bidding the gods and goddesses goodnight. You have the fabulous opportunity of attending the colourful Pushkar Fair, one of the oldest and most famous fairs in India. And you get to celebrate Diwali in Khajuraho, home to 85 distinct Hindu and Jain temples, all of them notable for their intricate depictions of joy, love, divinity, and war. Diwali, often referred to as the festival of lights, represents the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and wisdom over ignorance. It’s also an opportunity to spruce up the home, buy new clothes, and, of course, enjoy parties, feasting and an exchange of gifts.
Every corner of India reveals a different reflection on the past; it is a sensational example of seeing how the old and new intertwine. There really are few places on earth like India. And the best way to appreciate this rich and unique country is to throw yourself head first into this incredible Enchanting India – Women Only Hosted Tour.
